Peter Sieling

Peter Sieling, writer, owner, and operator of Garreson Publishing, is a lifetime beekeeper and woodworker. At the age of 14, Sieling acquired his first hive, and continued to expand his apiary through high school. He has been selling lumber for the past thirty years and constructing his own equipment. His articles have been featured in Bee Culture
and Popular Woodworking. Currently, Sieling lives in upstate NY with his wife, two dogs, three cats, several peacocks, and an apiary full of bees.

Sieling offers workshops at his business in Upstate NY and is available for speaking engagements. He regularly speaks at events, clubs, and classes. Sieling is the President of the Steuben County Honeybee Association. For more information, go to www.schba.info. Despite his love bees, Sieling keeps his bees a ten minute walk away from the house because his wife and son are both highly allergic to bee venom.

When not selling lumber or keeping bees, Sieling is an avid reader. He can be found reading Langstroth, Quinby, Bevins, and Root, and all variety of books. Sieling graduated from Houghton College in 1979 with a degree in Psychology.

Sieling is readily accessible to his customers. You can contact him by phone at 607-566-8558, or stop by Garreson Lumber and visit him during the work day, provided you call or email to make sure he’ll be in. He is located at 7201 Craig Road, Bath, NY 14810. His email address is petesieling@gmail.com.

Gary Sieling

Gary lives in Philadelphia, PA. He manages the Garreson Publishing website, as well as marketing and joint ventures. He is interested in urban agriculture, community gardens, and creative recycling, especially where woodworking is concerned. He enjoys talking to beekeepers from across the world.

While he used to help his father in the apiary, two trips to the hospital from reactions to bee venom forced Gary into a beekeeping business that doesn’t require getting stung.

Gary graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology, in Rochester, NY.

Hi Peter, if you are Peter Sieling from Dresden, N.Y. you might remember me living in your nice home for 3 months in winter 1971 – 72 as an exchange student from deep Peru.

    Regards,

    Guillermo
