Hotel Beehive!

by Gary

I went to SenchaCon at the Fairmont San Francisco this week. The hotel has beehives! They were installed this year to provide honey for the kitchens, pollinate plants, and stave off colony collapse disorder. On the lobby floor, there is a locked porch with raised beds full of flowers and herbs, and you can see one of the hives tucked away in the corner. Sounds like other hotel locations have beehives as well. The bees were installed by a honey farm local to San Fransisco, Marshall’s Bee Farm.
